Social IconsSo, there I was sitting in bed this morning looking through my Facebook news feed on my phone when I notice that my wife had posted a link to a short film called look up. I’d seen on my news feed a few days before that an old buddy of mine had posted up the film and that lots of other people had started sharing it. I opened the link this time as it was my wife who had posted it on my news feed and all that she had written was my name ‘Daniel Haynes’, intimating that the content of the film was in some way pertinent to me. So, I clicked on the link and watched the film. And yes, it was pertinent me. Very pertinent. As well as being pertinent to just about all of us.

Now, I could write a piece debating all the positive and negative merits of the internet and what it seems to now mean in modern culture and society to be social .i.e. the isolated worlds we inhabit in our heads and iPad’s (or what ever device you use) at the expense of meaningful contact with real human beings . But instead I’ll encourage you to click on the link to one of most popular social media platforms ‘YouTube’ so that the creator of the film ‘Look up’, Gary Turk can present his thought-provoking discussion on some of the not so positive outcomes of social media and our use of it in his fantastic film. Check it out…….

Note: Ironically, if this film turns up in your news feed be sure to help Gary get the message out there and SHARE IT.
